It is also home to stunning flora and fauna rooted in the planet’s most ancient soil. As a tourist to this unique province, one is often met with a difficult decision, as there is a mind-boggling variety of things to do in Cape Town! There is the world-famous Table Mountain that offers beautiful hiking trails to the adventurous, the cosmopolitan V&A Waterfront for the retail-obsessed and, of course, several Cape Town tours offering a selection of wine tasting experiences to guests.
The allure of Cape Town is far more than its intoxicating blend of exciting food and sumptuous wine in breath-taking surroundings – the people of this province pride themselves on providing authentic, memorable experiences to all tourists, as well as maintaining the sustainability of the natural surroundings. The Cape Winelands has a huge amount of land in conservation, and is a world-leader in sustainable wine production.
If you are in search of things to do in Cape Town that will tickle your wine tasting fancy, then our enlightening Cape Town tours will be sure to satisfy even the most knowledgeable wine anoraks! Our tours are the culmination of 30 years’ deep appreciation for locally produced and international wines. Our guide, Jonathan Snashall, abandoned a dull corporate career in 1997 to follow his passion for wine – and in 2001 achieved his dream of qualifying as a winemaker, creating outstanding wines in South Africa, New Zealand and Europe. Jonathan has evolved from a novice who enjoyed the occasional wine tasting, to a professional winemaker who enjoys sharing his knowledge about the fruit of the vine on exclusive wine tasting tours throughout the Western Cape.
As far as things to do in Cape Town are concerned, one of our exciting wine tasting tours should be at the top of your list – you are, after all, in some of the most prestigious wine lands in the world. Choose from one of our many exciting themed private tours, or customise your own tour with our expert guide. Each of our wine tours will broaden your wine-tasting horizons, and guests can expect to visit 4 to 6 wine estates per day. Our expert guide, Jonathan Snashall, can provide remarkable insight into everything wine related, including the lesser-known queries such as whether wine sealed by cork is better than wine under screw cap, and intriguing insight into why all red wine undergoes malolactic fermentation.
The daily rates of our superb Cape Town tours exclude food, food & wine pairings and any unusual tastings, such as library stock, vertical tastings, Sabrage and so forth. If you would like to include these activities, it can be arranged, additional costs may apply. A wine experience with Wine Tasting Tours is sure to be memorable.
